The Nokrek Area Development Committee (NADC) of South Garo HIlls has written to that district’s Deputy Commissioner to raise the pitiable plight of a rural school that has been left in a dilapidated condition for a decade.
Nokrek Ad Hoc Upper Primary School in Dana Adugre, under Chokpot constituency, has makeshift doors, tin sheets instead of windows, a weak tin roof held up by thin wooden poles and bare brick walls. All of this is bad but is made worse during the rainy season.
The school provides education from Class 6 to 8.
Moreover, the school has no kitchen to feed the students through the central government’s mid-day meal scheme.
