Shillong, Sep 17: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), in collaboration with the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS), organized the Shigoto seminar at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Auditorium in Shillong yesterday.
The seminar aimed to provide insights into job opportunities in Japan, particularly in caregiving and other sectors. The program also highlighted the State government’s overseas employment initiatives and the potential for collaboration with Japan.
MSSDS Executive Director Jagdish Chelani emphasised the significance of the seminar, stating that it offers a platform for participants to gain insight into Japan’s Kaigo market and learn about the country’s work culture.
NIHON Edutech CEO Krishnan Narayanan introduced JICWELS and its objectives, highlighting the organization’s support for care workers and its efforts to promote nursing care in Japan.
JICWELS Director Hiroya Yaguchi discussed Japan’s aging society and the need for nursing care workers. He emphasised that Japan is seeking care workers from overseas, with an estimated 250,000 workers needed by 2026.
The seminar included a question-and-answer session, where participants interacted with experts to clarify doubts and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities available.
