Meghalaya police have ascertained that two daos (machete) were used to kill Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem, who was present during the crime scene recreation in Sohra, told reporters that the accused have revealed that another weapon was used in the crime.
Syiem said the first dao with an orange handle was recovered on June 2, the same day the body of Raja was recovered from a deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls at the Riat Arliang parking lot in Umblai.
He said the second weapon has a steel handle and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have descended the gorge to find it.
“The accused have shown the place where the weapon was thrown and we are hopeful that the SDRF team finds it today or tomorrow,” Syiem said.
