A Science Fest to encourage scientific exploration and innovation among students was held at Dinam Hall, here yesterday by the Synod College.
The festival was organised by the Science Departments under DBT-Star College Scheme in collaboration with the Science Club and Environment Club.
The event was attended by Mawkyrwat MLA Renikton L. Tongkhar, including students from various schools, colleges, faculty members and other guests.
The aim of the science fest was to inspire young minds to explore scientific ideas and practical applications by offering a variety of activities, including setting up of exhibition stalls by various government organisations like Botanical Survey of India, N,E.R. centre, Zoological Survey of India, N.E. R., Geological Survey of India, Park & Museum Department, N.E.R., Directorate of Horticulture and Mushroom Development Centre, Directorate of Horticulture and Bioresources Development Centre.
Science competition like inter-college Science exhibition, debate, painting and Science crossword was also held, which fostered friendly rivalry and encourage students to show case their innovative creativity and knowledge in science.
Winners were awarded certificate and prizes which motivate participants to excel.
The science fest 2024 was a tremendous success and achieved its goal of stimulating interest in scientific pursuits. Attendees gained insights into the future of science and technology leaving them inspired and motivated. The events showcase the talents of students and underscored the importance of science and innovation in our daily life, a press release said.
