The West Jaintia Hills district Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (DSBMG) commemorated Swachh Bharat Diwas with the inauguration of a sanitary complex at Ladmukhla under Thadlaskein C&RD Block.
Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of DSBMG Batlang S Sohliya who attended the programme as the chief guest highlighted the importance of consistent efforts in maintaining cleanliness both at the community and household level engaging actively in keeping the surroundings clean.
He expressed optimism that the new sanitary complex would encourage more people to practice hygienic habits and utilise a proper sanitation system. He also encouraged local leaders to ensure the maintenance and sustainability of these facilities for a long term usage.
A pledge ceremony was also held where participants confirmed their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
