In a release today, SAFF conveyed its gratitude to the Social Welfare Minister and his team for the recently held meeting with faith leaders in the city on the state government’s anti-drugs mission. Expressing its confidence in the Social Welfare Department’s DREAM initiative under Mission Director Francis G Kharshiing, members of SAFF and leaders from other faiths assured the government that they will support this effort to rid Meghalaya of the menace of drugs and “other evils that plague our society today”.
SAFF requested all its members and units to take proactive steps in getting the expert, technical and financial support of the government under the Drug Rehabilitation, Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM) to facilitate and arrange different programmes in their institutions and also regularly reach out to their congregations. “SAFF will guide and support the members in this effort and will be part of these programmes,” Nongrum said in the release.
