East Khasi Hills police have seized 70 litres of illicit Indian-made foreign liquor and 100 litres of country made liquor in a crackdown on illicit activities in the city.
Police said vice raids were conducted yesterday across the city limits from Sadar area, Police Bazar, Polo area to Mawblei and Madanrting.
Rowdy elements were also acted against by the police team to ensure safe roads for the public, Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said.
“East Khasi Hills police is committed to continue its crackdown on illicit liquor sale, drunken driving and other illegal activities, to ensure safety, security and peace for the residents,” he added.
