The State government has mandated all unrecognised schools to apply for formal recognition under the Right to Education (RTE) Act within six months.
The directive was issued on Friday by issued Director of School Education & Literacy Banteilang J Kharshadi. Unrecognised schools are required schools to submit their applications to the respective District School Education Officers (DSEOs) in Form 1.
“Schools must obtain formal recognition from the competent authority within six months from the date of issuance of this notice,” he said.
Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to the closure of the unrecognized schools. Additionally, no new schools will be permitted to open without prior government consent, the notice said.
