The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya yesterday thwarted a smuggling attempt and seized contraband worth Rs 9.5 lakh along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
An Indian was arrested for the crime and apprehended an Indian national in Riyazlong village under Nongkhen BOP, West Jaintia Hills.
The seized items include garlic, cattle, sugar, panipuri, blankets, razors and an Alto car.
The apprehended individual and confiscated goods were handed over to customs authorities for further action.
