Rotary Club Shillong Heritage celebrated its Vocational Awards Programme here yesterday.
The chief guest at the programme was senior civil servant RM Kurbah.
Recipients of the award included businessman and philanthropist Shankarlal Goenka, the late Khasi folk singer and musician Skendrowell Syiemlieh, field coordinator of Childline Shillong I Synrem and social entrepreneur Shidalin Marbaniang. NESFAS was also honoured for social entrepreneurship with an award as an organisation.
Each of the recipients shared the story of their journey. The programme began with a presidential address by Barnali Bhuyan, secretary’s report by Gayatri Marnie Batkhar and speech by vocational chairperson Hemen Ch Kalita.
