Rotary Club Shillong Heritage felicitated five teachers from five different educational institutions in Shillong with the Nation Builders Award in celebration of Teachers’ Day and World Literacy Day over the past week.
The five awardees were Shri Vijay Kumar Singh from Dr Radhakrishnan School, Eric Bitlang Dkhar from Shillong Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Sanjeev B Pohti from Jyoti Sroat, Jennifer Sohliya from Shillong Public School and Antonia Sohtun from St Mary’s High School.
The awards, which included a citation and a traditional shawl, were conferred on the awardees at their respective school assemblies attended by the students and teachers of their school. The club officers who attended the programme spoke on the significance of the award, the engagement of Rotary with global illiteracy eradication and the Global Rotary Movement.
