Shillong, Aug 3: The District Administration of South Garo Hills held a one-day awareness programme on the Meghalaya Right to Public Service Act 2020 at Gasuapara.
The programme aimed to educate citizens about the act, which ensures transparent, efficient and time-bound delivery of services such as caste certificates, birth certificates, ration cards and voter ID cards.
UT Sangma, Block Development Officer, highlighted the importance of the legislation, while Gamseng K Marak, District Statistical Officer, elaborated on the process of accessing services and seeking redressal for delays or wrongful rejections.
Representatives from various departments briefed the audience on the services available in their respective departments.
The programme also featured a video show on the Meghalaya Right to Public Service Act 2020, further educating the attendees about the benefits and provisions of the act.
