Traditional heads in Ri Bhoi district have joined the bandwagon of other groups to demand suspension of police officers involved in the raid that killed the ex-militant leader.
The Dorbar Ki Rangbah Shnong Ri Bhoi (DRSRD) today held a meeting in Nongthymmai, Umsning wherein they decided to extend their support to the groups in Shillong and other parts of the Khasi-Jaiñtia Hills and said that the State government should suspend the cops in a month.
DRSRD president Rocky Kylla told reporters that the traditional heads want justice for the late ex-HNLC leader, Cherishterfield Thangkhiew and this could be achieved if the police officers responsible are suspended.
Meanwhile, the dorbar at the meeting also dwelt on border conflict that occurs from time to time between the residents along the inter-state border with Assam.
