Ri Bhoi district police has directed all Pakistani nationals to leave the State on or before April 27.
Superintendent of Police Vivekanand Singh Rathore in an order issued today said all Pakistani nationals, except those who are on long term Visa and diplomatic or official Visa are directed to leave.
The Pakistani nationals on medical Visa are directed to leave the country on or before April 29 and those on SAARC Visa are directed to leave on or before April 26, Rathore said in the order.
“Failure to comply with above direction shall render such persons liable to strict action as per law including registration of criminal case,” he said.
While no data have been specified if there are Pakistani nationals in the district, Ri Bhoi police have sought information from the public about the presence of Pakistani nationals by calling Police Control Room (Dial 112).
The order comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs directive.
India announced suspending visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect over the cross-border links to the Pahalgam attack, the worst terror strike targeting civilians in the country since the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
