The Ri-Bhoi unit of the Federation of Khasi, Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) today inspected the still unfinished PMGSY road connecting Umling to Umlinglambrang, which is still incomplete four years after work on it began.
The project to black-top the road began in 2018 but villagers say that the contractor has been delaying its completion or has abandoned the work.
Based on these complaints, the pressure group decided to have a look at the condition for itself.
Only some of the route has been blacktopped, with villagers facing a bumpy ride over the unfinished portion.
The FKJGP promised to take up the matter until the project is completed.
