A felicitation programme to celebrate to 10 years of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) was held in Jowai yesterday.
Healthcare professionals, mobile health teams and stakeholders from Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi districts were honoured for their contribution and dedication to early identification and intervention in child’s health care from birth to 18 years of age by addressing the 4Ds (Defect at birth, Disease, Deficiencies and Developmental delays).
Assistant Commissioner F. Passah who attended the programme as chief guest applauded the team for their commitment and relentless efforts in reaching far flung areas, overcoming numerous challenges including road conditions.
RBSK state nodal officer Dr I Gatphoh expressed pride in celebrating the 10 years milestone of the programme, dedicated to health and wellbeing of children launched in 2013. She also expressed immense satisfaction with the programme’s achievement in safeguarding child health.
She dedicated the success of the programme to the dedication efforts of the Mobile Health teams of doctors, the nurses, the pharmacists as well as the ASHA workers. She also reaffirms RBSK’s commitment to ensuring a healthier future for children across the state of Meghalaya.
DEIC Manager Dr. H L Suting emphasised the importance of enhancing the need to strengthen early referral systems for birth defects and developmental delays to improve healthcare accessibility and outcome.
