The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rains in Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh from tomorrow till October 11.
According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation lies over the central parts of south Bay of Bengal in middle tropospheric levels. Moreover, another cyclonic circulation lies over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, with a trough running from this system to the central parts of north Uttar Pradesh across Telangana, Vidarbha and West Madhya Pradesh.
Under the combined influence of these systems, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rains along with isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning are all very likely across North East India for the next five days, the IMD said.
