The State BJP will submit its recommendations on the State Reservation Policy to the expert committee on Monday.
State BJP vice president, Bernard N Marak said that the party had constituted a consultative committee to put forth suggestions on the policy by collecting views from various districts and leaders.
“We have received opinions from different districts and finalised the draft and we will be sending it to the president, who will then forward it to the expert committee,” he said.
Marak said most of the BJP leaders have agreed to the recommendations after discussions were held this week in Tura.
The BJP vice president did not divulge the recommendations made.
Earlier, Marak is of the view that status quo should be maintained. “I feel it should not be changed as there is a balance between the three communities, and 40 per cent reservation is necessary for the Garos,” he had said.
