An earthquake of 3.8 magnitude rocked Shillong and adjoining areas today morning.
The tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale took place at 8.46 am.
According to the Regional Seismological Centre here, the epicentre of the earthquake was detected at a depth of 14 km in Mawphlang area.
The tremors due to the quake were also felt in Guwahati and other parts of the North East.
Meanwhile, the National Center for Seismology in its post on X said, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.8, occurred on 08-12-2023, 08:46:56 IST, Lat: 25.47 & Long: 91.75, Depth: 14 Km, Location: 18km SW of Shillong, Meghalaya, India.”
