People in Mynsngat village today protested against the killing of a pickup truck driver and demanded life imprisonment against those involved in the crime.
Pynkhreh Surong, a resident of Mynsngat has been missing since March 9. The accused dumped his body at forested area near NH 06 in Pommura near Mawryngkneng after committing the crime.
Three persons were arrested so far by police identified as Meban Talang, the brother of slain prisoner I Love You Talang, and Jimmy Kyndait from Moorap village and Sambun Dkhar of Mynsngat village.
The protest march was organised by the Joint Action Committee Nartiang – Khanduli Circle comprising of headmen from Myngsngat, Morap, Nartiang, Khanduli villages and local drivers.
The speakers who addressed the crowd on this day included the parents of the accused.
Pictures of the three accused were also burnt by the villagers after the meeting.
