The East Jaiñtia Hills District Magistrate has promulgated section144 CrPC prohibiting trucks to transport fly ash/clinker and has directed all the trucks ferrying them to other places to cover with suitable water proof tarpaulin.
The order also prohibits throwing and dumping of fly ash/ clinker along the National Highway.
“It has been observed that trucks transporting fly ash/clinker in NH6 on a daily basis in an unscrupulous and reckless manner by transporters has resulted in dust particles emanating from the trucks,” the order said.
He also said that the airborne fly ash/clinker if inhaled can trigger asthma, inflammation and immunological reactions and also result into public nuisance and inconvenience at a large scale. Furthermore, he has directed all types of vehicles transporting fly ash/ clinker to be stopped and should not continue to do so.
The order which comes into immediate effect also warned of stern action against violators.
