The Hynñiewtrep Youths Council (HYC) and Jaiñtia Youth Federation (JYF) met the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaiñtia Hills today to request him to expedite the delayed District Selection Committee exam and being a coaching programme.
The meeting took place at the DC’s office to discuss the pressing concerns surrounding the vacant posts and to advocate for the rights of aspiring candidates.
The vacant posts, which were notified by the district in 2021, have remained unfilled for two years, leaving applicants in a state of uncertainty. Recognising the importance of expediting the recruitment process, the HYC and JYF engaged in a constructive dialogue with the DC, Abhilash Baranwal, to seek solutions to this pressing issue.
During the meeting, the representatives of the youth organisations outlined the challenges and anxieties faced by the aspirants due to the prolonged delay. They emphasised the need for a timely and transparent recruitment process to ensure equal opportunities for all deserving candidates. The delegation also highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive coaching programme to equip applicants with the necessary skills and knowledge for the vacant positions.
The DC exhibited a deep understanding of the concerns raised by the pressure groups and assured them of the administration’s commitment to resolving the matter swiftly and efficiently. He also reportedly pledged to oversee the implementation of a comprehensive coaching programme aimed at enhancing the capabilities of applicants and preparing them for the upcoming DSC exam, which will be held without further delay.
