A string of political figures, including Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong and Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh visited the home of the late Rowell Lyngdoh, a former Deputy CM, who passed away yesterday.
The 86-year-old passed away in Shillong. A large number of legislators, cutting across party lines, visited the late leader’s residence to pay their last respects to the ex-legislator, who retired from politics in 2018.
“His contributions to our state will always be remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Sangma wrote on social media after visiting the home of the deceased.
