The All Jaiñtia Mid Day Meal Workers Union (Central Executive Committee) has urged the state government o provide LPG connection and clean water supply to all PM POSHAN school kitchens.
At present the cooks cum helpers have to cook meals for the children with firewood.
In a letter to the District School Education Officers, in West and East Jaiñtia districts, the cook cum helpers of the region said providing LPG connections “on humanitarian grounds” to the school kitchens for the betterment of the health of the workers.
“The Cook cum Helpers who are the needy and the weaker section will be delighted if you and your good department, who are the lifeline for a complete human being in the present world, would consider to treat this matter urgently and to do justice,” the workers said in the letter.
