The Meghalaya High Court has closed and disposed off two PILs filed in connection with illegal coke oven plants in the State.
The PILs were filed by Shailendra Kumar Sharma and Monu Kumar. Based on these PILs, the High Court has acted against the illegal coke oven plants last year.
During today’s hearing, the division bench of the High Court said that in view of the action taken by the authorities in shutting down the illegal coke oven plants, the PILs are accordingly closed and disposed of.
