State education adviser Himalaya Shangpliang has assured that the State government would soon release Rs 52 crore as capping salary for SSA teachers.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a conference cum felicitation programme of SSA teachers here today, Shangpliang said that the MDA government has taken various initiatives for the SSA teachers.
“The capping norms which we were supposed to provide to the SSA teachers are in the process. The file has already been moved from the department, and once the government releases it, we will be able to release Rs 52 crore for the SSA teachers,” Shangpliang said.
He said that apart from the Rs 52 crore, the government has also assured to release the installments (arrears) which were pending for years.
“The first arrears installment was released in June, the second installment has been released this month, and the process of giving salaries has already started,” Shangpliang said.
The former MLA who was appointed as adviser to the education department also said that while the State government is addressing all issues of the SSA teachers so that the standard of education in all SSA schools improves in the days to come.
