Officials of the State government defeated pastors by 3-1 at the charity football friendly match held at Saitsnad field in Mawlangwir today.
The match was organised by the Khasi Jaiñtia Presbyterian Synod Sepngi to raise funds for construction of the centenary building of the Dr. H. Gordon Robert Hospital, Shillong.
The hospital authorities plan to build an annexe, the ‘Centenary Building’, which will be next to the existing building. The construction will be accomplished in a phase-wise manner, with the construction of the ground floor, at a cost of Rs 7 crore, to begin shortly. It will contain a laboratory, records room, MRI and X-ray room, blood collection centre, pharmacy, orthopaedics and physiotherapy sections. The estimate for all five floors is Rs 44 crore.
Ranikor MLA and MDC, Pius attended the match as the chief guest and also donated Rs 1 lakh.
