The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) executive council has decided to form an inquiry committee to investigate the appointments of university registrar Omkar Singh and deputy registrar Amit Gupta.
The decision was taken by the university’s executive council during its meeting here yesterday.
The committee will be headed by a retired judge or Indian administrative/police service officials, as determined by 11 out of 12 attending members.
NEHU vice chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla confirmed the decision, stating that the notification will be issued on the next working day due to the holiday today on account of Nongkrem Dance.
