After years of struggling on their own following the death of their parents, three young siblings received the keys to a brand new home in Mawkasaiñ village, East Khasi Hill district today.
The newly constructed house is a Christmas gift for the siblings, courtesy the Federation of Khasi Jaiñtia & Garo People’s (FKJGP), South East Khasi border circle.
A small function to hand over the house was attended by FKJGP general secretary Eldie N Lyngdoh, circle president Kyrmen Shangdiar, chief acting syiem Hima Malai Sohmat, members of the organisation, villagers and others.
The FKJGP thanked Smetdar Shangdiar who donated land and others who came in aid of the orphans.
