The persistent rain that Meghalaya has been receiving over the past several days could get a little heavier, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an orange alert for East Khasi Hills and East Jaintia Hills tomorrow.
All the other 10 districts will remain under a yellow alert, one level lower than orange. While heavy rain and gusty winds are likely in these districts, EKH and EJH could face gusty winds and heavy to very heavy rain tomorrow. The orange alerts will persist into Tuesday when West Jaintia Hills will also be placed under an orange alert.
Rain is predicted across Meghalaya through to the end of the week, with a persistent patch of low pressure bringing the wet weather to the state and other parts of the North East.
Weather forecasts are fluid and the IMD may change its advice when it issues a new update tomorrow.
