One person was arrested and another managed to flee while allegedly stealing tyres from Mawkyrwat, police said today.
South West Khasi Hills police said one of the accused Stevenson Tongwah was apprehended by the villagers.
As per an FIR, Tongwah along with one Michael Nongsiej stole two truck tyres worth Rs 40,000 from the residence of one Milan Kharsyiemlieh at around 6:30 pm.
Police said a case under section 380/34 IPC was registered and investigation is on.
