The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of St Dominic’s College in Dum-Dum Nongthymmai organised a plogging (picking up litter and jogging) event on Saturday.
The theme was ‘Walk, Jog and Plog: Making a Difference for the Earth’ and was held as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the Fit India Movement from Lad Smit to Iew Smit.
Around 65 NSS volunteers along with two programme officers actively participated in the programme.
Participants collected 30-35kg of plastic waste and created awareness among the villagers on fitness and cleanliness.
