A delegation of NPP leaders from Meghalaya, led by Lok Sabha MP Agatha Sangma, met Union home minister Amit Shah yesterday to share their views and deliberate on the continuing crisis in Manipur, people familiar with the matter said.
Rajya Sabha MP Wanweiroy Kharlukhi and two Manipur MLAs M. Rameshwar Singh and Sheikh Nurool Hassan accompanied Sangma.
The NPP leaders has put forth a series of proposals to Shah seeking his intervention in restoring peace in strife-torn Manipur and sought adequate relief and rehabilitation materials to ensure the safety and livelihood of those affected by the violence.
The leaders also assured that the party will extend all possible help in restoring peace and harmony in Manipur and in providing support in terms of relief and rehabilitation materials for the welfare of the victims of present crisis in Manipur.
