East Khasi Hills police today arrested a person described as a “notorious thief” involved in a series of theft and burglary across the city.
Identified as Shanbor Wahlang alias Moolchand, the accused has been linked to a total of four cases registered at Sadar Police Station.
Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said the accused is a prime suspect of the crime within Shillong reported since 2022.
“His criminal activities have been a significant concern for the community, and his arrest marks a crucial step towards resolving the ongoing theft and burglary cases in the area,” he said.
Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of his involvement in these cases and other related crimes, the SP added.
