A quiz team of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Shillong will compete at the national level RBI90 Quiz competition to be held in Mumbai on December 6.
NIT stood third at the zonal round of the quiz competition organised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for undergraduate students as part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating 90 years.
The zonal round was conducted in Guwahati which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the state level winners of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura.
The winning team was from the Netaji Subhash Mahavidhalaya, Tripura comprising Shubajit Chakraborty and Shreya Modak. The teams from NIT Silchar, Assam took the second prize.
The top three teams won prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 4 lakh, and Rs 3 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, RBI Executive Director Arnab Kumar Chowdhury said the quiz competition also aims to encourage students to understand RBI’s critical role in shaping the financial system. He emphasised the importance of financial literacy and said that a financially aware young population can be a powerful multiplier in propagating financial awareness among others.
