New containment orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The localities in Nonglang village – namely Kyntoit Nongdom, Kyntoit iing Myrsiang, Kyntoit Pyndenbah, Kyntoit Pyndenjathang – have been declared as containment areas. This is because 46 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Nonglang in the last five days.
The whole of Jashiar village has also been declared a containment zone after a spurt of Covid cases there.
Meanwhile, lockdown restrictions have been lifted for other areas of Nonglang as well as Mawkyrwat, Mawten and Mawlangwir from 5am on Monday.
