A Yuva Utsav on the theme of ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal – India @2047’ was organised in the city today.
The festival, which is being organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Shillong had several activities for the youth of East Khasi Hills district at the Shillong Jail Road Boy’s HS School.
Around 200 participants took part in the Young Artist-painting, Young Writers-poetry, mobile photography, declamation contest and cultural festival.
The departments of National Health Mission, Meghalaya, State Tuberculosis Office, Sports Office, DJD, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Yuva Art and Craft exhibited their developments at the venue to further acquaint the youth of the overall progress in the State.
The programme focused on promoting five main ideas – the goal of developed India, remove any trace of colonial mindset, take pride in heritage and legacy, National unity and solidarity and sense of duty among the citizens.
Mawryngkneng MLA Heaving Stone Kharpran attended the programme as the chief guest in the presence of State Director NYKS, Meghalaya, Sharmistha Dhote and other guests.
