An awareness campaign was organised by the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) Shillong branch yesterday for entrepreneurs of the Mawngap region.
The meet was attended by 32 entrepreneurs from the area.
The objective of the meeting was to create awareness on the schemes provided by NEDFi and to educate and inform entrepreneurs about the mentoring service provided by NEDFi through its business facilitation centre.
NEDFI Shillong branch manager Pynkynmawlang Rymmai informed entrepreneurs about the corporation’s activities and the various project profiles prepared by it according to the potential of each individual state in the North East to help budding entrepreneurs. Business development representative Bhanudlang Kharkongor briefed the gathering about the various NEDFi schemes to promote entrepreneurship.
The entrepreneurs were also given a briefing about the North East Venture Fund, the first dedicated venture fund for the region, and the prospects of availing venture capital by start-ups from Meghalaya. The participants were also informed about other central government schemes, such as MOVCDNER, National Bamboo Mission, MIDH, etc for the benefit of rural entrepreneurship.
