Shillong, Nov 23: The North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) concluded the three-month campaign for the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on November 20 at its Shillong campus, marking a series of activities aimed at promoting integrity, transparency and public accountability.
As part of the observance, NECTAR organised multiple awareness-based competitions, including quiz, debate and painting contests.
All participants were awarded prizes and certificates in recognition of their efforts and involvement. In the school category, Aayan Gurung of Seven Set Higher Secondary School secured the first position, followed by Laweihaka Dkhar of BK Bajoria Higher Secondary School in second place and Deepali Chettri of Army Public School in third place.
In the college category, Jonistar Jyrwa of Synod College emerged as the first-place winner, while Fabian Tyngkaihok Nongkynrih of Shillong Commerce College and Annibasuk Kharbani of Synod College secured the second and third positions respectively. The event highlighted the talent and competitive spirit of students from both school and college levels.
A key highlight of the programme was a special vigilance awareness session conducted by an Inspector from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Shillong Branch. The session focused on the importance of ethical conduct, preventive vigilance and the role of building a corruption-free society.
