Like every year, National Youth Day 2024 was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre here today.
The day commemorated the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Prof Pinakeswar Mahanta, Director of NIT Meghalaya was the chief guest and Atul Nikam, Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Shillong was the guest of honour.
A song in Khasi titled “Ka por Tamasha” was performed by the students of the Vivekananda Cultural Centre.

In his speech he touched upon the fact that young minds are now exposed to technological advancements having high benefits but which also pose a threat to value systems.
Swami Hitakamananda, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Shillong, encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s words and works.
