Shillong, Jul 8: The National Law University of Meghalaya marked its third foundation day on Wednesday attended by Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere.
The festivities started with the inauguration of the university’s new moot court room followed by a ceremonial tree plantation to commemorate the occasion.
In her special address, the Chief Justice inspired students to perceive the study of law as a lifelong journey. She emphasised that hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to self-improvement are crucial in the legal profession.
Dere recommended gaining practical exposure through internships in various legal settings, including district courts and NGOs, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the justice delivery system and real-world experiences. She urged aspiring legal professionals to embrace integrity and dedication in their future careers.
The programme included the screening of the university’s institutional video, which highlighted its vision, academic initiatives, and various accomplishments over the past three years and the launch of the student house system.
