A girl from Meghalaya was among nine rescued by Mumbai police during a raid in the Andheri area of Mumbai yesterday.
Among the nine girls who were rescued during the raid, seven hail from the North East.
According to reports, police, acting on specific input, raided a spa in the Andheri area and busted the high profile sex racket.
During the raid, police rescued nine girls rescued from the spa who include four from Manipur, two from Mizoram, one from Meghalaya, one from Kolkata and one from Lucknow.
Police also arrested the manager of the spa, identified as Chandrakant. However, the spa owner identified as Atul Dhivar is absconding.
Reports also said that several high profile persons of Mumbai city are suspected to have links to the sex racket.
