The Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP), under the Health and Family Welfare Department, launched the “Adolescents Unfiltered” podcast during the World AIDS Day event organised by the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society today.
The podcast was launched by the chief guest, Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh.
Evanylla Marbaniang of the MHSSP introduced the podcast, emphasising that its aim is to provide a platform for adolescents to share their experiences, learn from one another, discover available services and to seek advice from experts.
“Our ongoing effort is to address key health issues through social behavioural change communications,” she said. “We have identified teenage pregnancy as a significant concern. The … podcast is one of the activities under the campaign to curb teenage pregnancy and provide adolescents with accurate information to empower them in making informed decisions.”
The podcast will be accessible on popular platforms such as Spotify, Saavan, Google Podcast, YouTube, Instagram and others. Covering critical topics like mental health, puberty, peer pressure and relationships through candid discussions, the goal is to break through the stigma surrounding these matters.
The podcast will be hosted by Evanjeline Thubru and Emily Grazel Jyrwa.
