Mudslides triggered by heavy rains blocked the national highway at Narpuh in East Jaiñtia Hills district today.
Thousands of vehicles were stranded at the road from 6: 30 am till late in the afternoon.
Police from Lumshnong and men and machines of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) could clear the landslides to restore the traffic on the highway, officials said.
