      MSL : Sutnga battle from goal down; Lajong win 2nd in a row; Pynursla blank Patharkhmah

      Shillong Lajong won their second consecutive match to extend their hold on Group E of the Meghalaya State League 2024 by beating Seinbhalang Shktentalang 6-2 in Wahiajer today thanks to a Kynsaibor Lhuid hat-trick.

      Kynsai (18’, 37’, 90’+5) scored twice in the first half and once in the second and there were also goals from his team mates Abhay Chettri (3’) and Deibormame Tongper (16’, 20’). However, Lajong, the 2019 MSL champions, did not have it their own way as S Shktentalang netted twice through Tip Rasmut (36’) and Teibormi Tariang (71’) to give their fans something to cheer about.

      In Group B, Sutnga had to come back from conceding early to defeat Riangdo Youth 4-1. Riangdo’s Batskhemlang Thongnirit (3’) netted first before Sutnga powered their way back into the game through Skhemborlang Rupai (35’), Raplangki Lyngdoh (54’), Cheerfulness Shadap (77’) and Deligent Pdang (90’+4).

      Elsewhere, Lumsohkhlur pipped Pinggera Do•gisik 2-1 in Group A in Tura. Here Hellocomet Marbaniang (13’) and Richmond Nongsiej (44’) scored on either side of Rakanchekam R Marak’s 37th minute goal, with the score line not changing after the first half.

      In Group C, Tyrsad hosted its first match in MSL history and Ladthadlaboh secured a 1-0 victory over local side Mawlum Tyrsad with the lone goal provided by Rangdajied Sayoo in the 20th minute.

      Over at Khliehriat, in Group D, it ended goalless between Mulait United and Iatyllilang Lumsehkot Raliang, while Group F saw Riborlang Dkhar (44’, 90’) score a brace for Pynursla United to win 2-0 against Patharkhmah in Shillong.

      There will be just the one match tomorrow, between Mawtari Myrdon and 7 Wasa United in Group E at Wahiajer, with kick-off slated for 2pm.

      Group A (Tura): Pinggera Do’gisik 1 – 2 Lumsohkhlur

      Group B (Mawkyrwat): Sutnga 4 – 1 Riangdo Youth

      Group C (Tyrsad): Mawlum Tyrsad 0 – 1 Ladthadlaboh

      Group D (Khliehriat): Mulait United 0 – 0 Iatyllilang Lumsehkot Raliang

      Group E (Wahiajer): Shillong Lajong 6 – 2 Seinbhalang Shktentalang

      Group F (Shillong): Pynursla United 2 – 0 Patharkhmah
