The Nongkrem Youth Development Association (NYDA) today inaugurated the mobile healthcare services to bring healthcare closer to the poor and needy.
The service was initiated under the Chief Minister Special Development Fund 2024-25.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongkrem MDC Lambor Malngiang told the gathering that this facility will help those who cannot travel far to get medical help. “This will be a blessing to those who cannot afford to come to health facilities,” he said.
Malngiang also noted that usually only MLAs are eligible to draw on this fund. (Malngiang had been Nongkrem MLA until 2023.)
Meanwhile, Wanlang Mylliemngap, president of the NYDA, said that the mobile healthcare services will reach the unreached under the “Open Arm Project”.
The NYDA has tied up with Adriella Healthcare (OPC) Pvt Ltd to implement the mobile health services. The company will provide doctors and nurses will be offered by the health sub-centre in Nongkrem as well as Smit primary health centre whenever available, Mylliemngap said.
