The National Commission for Minorities today held a video conference meeting with 18 states and union territories to discuss the implementation and registration of marriages of Sikhs under the Anand Marriage Act.
The meeting was chaired by National Commission for Minorities chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura.
During the meeting, Meghalaya, Jharkhand and Maharashtra reported that they have implemented the Anand Marriage Act in their respective states.
The remaining states and union territories have assured to implement the Act within two months’ time.
