The Union of Cook Cum Helpers of PM Poshan Meghalaya has decided to call off its strike after workers received pending honorariums.
The union held a meeting at Mootyrchiah, West Jaintia Hills, where it was decided to call off the agitation, which had begun on October 16.
The workers will resume work from November 7 after the government released their honorariums up to September.
Meanwhile, the union has urged the state government to clear the October and November honorariums before Christmas and to ensure that all schools that serve mid-day meals be provided with cooking gas connections from April 2024.
