The Meghalaya TMC has set up kiosks in every constituency for its WE Card under the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment Scheme (MFI WE).
In a press release today, the party stated there is massive response to the scheme as registration has already crossed over 40,000.
The kiosks were set up in 24 Assembly constituencies to help out in registrations offline and party volunteers are providing guidance to the local residents in enrolling in the MFI WE scheme, the TMC said.
Women showed up in great numbers extending support as Williamnagar in East Garo Hills district saw women thronging the kiosks in big numbers, the statement said, adding that this reflects the faith from the women of Meghalaya towards the empowerment scheme.
Door to door registrations are also being carried in the constituency under Samanda Megapgre, Nengkra, Gonggnagre, and Balsrigittim booths. Similarly, South Tura also witnessed a huge number of women voluntarily signing up to get enrolled for the scheme, it said.
