A yogasana event for the East Zone was held in Guwahati from December 1 to 3 in which Meghalaya was one of the participating states.
The competition was hosted by the All Assam Yogasana Sports Association.
The other participating states were Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
Meghalaya’s Esika Sarma finished second in the ‘artistic single’ junior category with 96.59 points.
The Meghalaya team was also third in the ‘artistic group’ junior category with 53.69 points. The team comprised Sarma, Avantika Rabha, Bandana Hajong, Dibya Kumari and Sneha Brahma.
In traditional yogasana, Meghalaya’s Kumari finished sixth (57.08 points) and Prathna Sonar tenth (51.58 points).
